Alcoa Foundation Awards $100,000 in Grants to American Mural Project

AMP has received two grant commitments totaling $100,000 from the
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - based Alcoa Foundation. This is the largest
gift ever awarded to a single nonprofit in Connecticut in the history of the
Foundation. The funds will enable AMP, which will be the largest three-
dimensional collaborative artwork indoors in the country, to implement an
intensive promotional and public relations plan and to invest in curriculum
and program development.

Laurie Roy, Human Resources Manager of Alcoa Howmet in Winsted,
presented the Alcoa Foundation grant to Ellen at the American Mural Project,
100 Whiting Street in Winsted on Friday, September 14th at 4:00 p.m.
