Why Give Through a DAF?

Many supporters tell us that giving through a DAF feels both simple and impactful. Your DAF gift can:

  • Multiply your generosity. Investment growth in your DAF turns into more resources for kids’ creativity and community programs.

  • Streamline giving. Recommend grants to AMP from one account, at your own pace.

  • Leave a legacy. DAFs let families involve children in philanthropy, passing on values of creativity, collaboration, and generosity.

Donor Stories

“In this day and age, exposure to art, music, education, and a supportive community is more crucial than ever. It is beyond gratifying to know that our DAF is helping AMP to expand its ability to reach thousands more and to continue their inspiring and invaluable mission for years to come.” – AMP Donor

"DAF is a very easy and efficient vehicle that allows me to track past donations and support the organizations I see deserving of my support. The American Mural Project is certainly an organization that deserves support, and the DAF facilitates that, while allowing for growth and potential asset appreciation."  – AMP Donor

Frequently Asked Question

  • Yes! Many DAF providers let you set up monthly, quarterly, or yearly giving—so your support for AMP can happen automatically.

  • No need. Your tax deduction happened when you first contributed to your DAF. But don’t worry—we’ll still send you an acknowledgment to share how your gift is making a difference here.

  • That’s completely up to you. When you make a grant recommendation, you can choose whether to share your name and contact information with us. You can also decide to remain anonymous to the public and other donors, even if you do share your information with AMP internally.

  • IRS rules say DAF grants can’t come with personal benefits—so things like event tickets, auctions, or memberships with perks aren’t eligible. But your gift can powerfully support our programs and community events.

  • Absolutely! Many donors love making DAF giving a family tradition, choosing together where to give and what impact to make.

  • DAFs can be especially handy if you’ve had a financial event (like selling a business or receiving a bonus) and want the tax deduction right away. They also let you consolidate your giving in one place and sometimes even grow your giving power through investment.

  • Sometimes, yes. Some companies will match DAF contributions if you provide them with AMP’s acknowledgment letter. It’s worth checking with your HR team.

Know that every DAF grant helps fuel our art education programs for kids, keep our community events thriving, and bring the monumental mural to life. In short—you’re helping celebrate the power of work and creativity in America.
