Make Music Day

Join the worldwide, free celebration of music.

Every year, on June 21, local venues and musicians around the world come together to create live music experiences in their communities for people of all ages and abilities. All Make Music Day events are free and open to the public. No experience is necessary.

AMP is participating in this day of grassroots music-making fun with free performances and participatory activities throughout the day. Stay tuned for details.

Music—performed by anyone, free for everyone.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Professional musicians perform for new audiences, who come out from under their headphones to hear unfamiliar groups risk-free. Thousands of amateur musicians play in public spaces, sometimes for the first time. And everyone is invited to sing along and enjoy the first day of summer.

Today, Make Music Day is observed in more than 1,000 cities around the world. It is the world’s largest annual music event.
