Teen Art StudiO FAQ
What kinds of art can I make?
Each session includes materials for painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and sometimes things like stop-motion or fashion—making it one of the most accessible teen art classes in CT for creative experimentation.
Do I need to register for Teen Art Studio?
We encourage you to reserve a spot on Eventbrite. It helps us prepare materials and speeds up the check-in process. You can also drop in anytime between 10:30 and 1:30 on the day of the program.
Is Teen Art Studio really just for teens?
Yes. TAS is designed for teens ages 13 to 18. We also offer Family Day programs at the same time for younger kids, so it’s a great opportunity for families with kids of multiple ages.
Do I need art experience to join?
Not at all. Whether you're brand new to art or already building a portfolio, Teen Art Studio is a place to experiment, learn, and grow.
Who leads the program?
TAS is led by professional teaching artist Shana Bazelmans, who brings creative prompts, technical support, and encouragement to each session.

How much does it cost?
There is a $5 materials fee per session, or you can come for free with an AMP Student Membership ($25/year).
Where is Teen Art Studio held?
All sessions take place at the American Mural Project, 90 Whiting Street, Winsted, CT—in our program room, just steps from the mural exhibit.
When is it offered?
Teen Art Studio is held on the second Saturday of each month from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Check the main page for current season dates.
